Welcome to Gliocas (referred to as "Gliocas," "we," "us," or "our"). We provide an online and mobile software ecosystem functioning as an Integrated Writing Environment (IWE), combining digital manuscript compilation tools, an organized structural "Story Codex," and context-aware, generative artificial intelligence utilities.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding, legal contract between you and Gliocas. They govern your contractual access to and use of our website, desktop applications, mobile applications, and API pipelines (collectively, the "Service").

Please review these Terms carefully before initializing your profile or generating content. By checking "I accept," setting up a profile, or accessing any operational area of the Service, you confirm your absolute acceptance of these Terms and agree to be legally bound by them. If you do not accept these provisions, you may not utilize the Service.

    1. Compliance and Regional Adaptations

Gliocas operates internationally. These Terms are drafted to align structurally with the European Union Digital Services Act (DSA) and Digital Markets Act, the consumer protection and data statutes of the United Kingdom (including the Data [Use and Access] Act 2025 and Consumer Rights Act 2015), and federal/state electronic commerce frameworks across the United States (including the California Consumer Privacy Act and the Federal Trade Commission Act).

    • If you reside in the European Union or the United Kingdom: These Terms do not erase or override mandatory statutory consumer protections, withdrawal capabilities, or localized judicial access paths guaranteed by regional laws.
    • If you reside in the United States: Section 14 outlines a binding arbitration framework and a class-action waiver that impacts how legal disputes between you and Gliocas are processed.

    2. Your Account: Registration, Security, and Governance

    2.1 Profile Creation

To access our writing tools, Codex, or community pages, you must establish an authorized account. You agree to submit true, complete, and current information (such as your active email address) during the onboarding phase, and to update these metrics if your operational pathways alter.

    2.2 Credential Security

You are exclusively responsible for preserving the confidentiality of your authentication details, including passwords, Google or Apple OAuth tokens, and Magic Link signatures. You are legally and operationally liable for any activity, data transmission, or financial transactions executed under your account.

    2.3 Breach Notification

If you suspect or confirm that an unauthorized third party has penetrated your account, bypassed authentication, or intercepted your access parameters, you must notify us immediately at Contact Support and Feedback . Gliocas is not liable for structural financial losses, asset deletion, or manuscript exposure resulting from your failure to protect your login tokens.

    2.4 Account Eligibility

By registering, you declare that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal threshold in your country of residence to independently execute a contract without mandatory parental oversight). If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that your legal guardian has reviewed and explicitly consented to your execution of these Terms.

    3. Your Content: Ownership, Licenses, and Intellectual Property

    3.1 Unconditional Ownership Guarantee

You retain complete, absolute, and uncompromised copyright, trademark, and intellectual property ownership over all content you independently author, construct, or compile within the solo portions of the Service. This includes full text blocks, draft chapters, narrative outlines, and custom metadata tables located inside your personal Story Codex. What you write belongs to you.

3.2 Operating License Granted to Gliocas

To provide the Service, we require a narrow, technical license from you. You hereby grant Gliocas a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable (solely to our designated infrastructure processors, such as database servers and API hosts), and temporary license to host, parse, cache, transmit, duplicate, back up, display, and stream your content.

    • Scope Limit: This license is executed strictly for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and serving the platform to you, or to other users whom you explicitly authorize via our interactive sharing, exporting, or publishing interfaces (e.g., /dashboard/Shared with me). It terminates automatically when your account or specific content fields are deleted.

3.3 The "Write-Together" (WT) Community Exception

Our platform provides a unique collaborative canvas known as "Write-Together" (/write-together). If you choose to leave your personal dashboard and participate in these collective, community-led writing environments, your default ownership structure shifts as follows:

    • The Contribution Paradigm: When you submit a textual continuity continuation (a " Proposal") or structural outline draft (a "Story Seed") to an active public round page (/write-together/:wtBookId/propose), you are voluntarily entering a shared creative commons environment.
    • Mandatory Individual Consent Dialogs: Before any proposal can be successfully uploaded to the Service, the application will display a clear, mandatory Consent & Rights Waiver Modal. This dialog explicitly informs you that upon clicking "Submit Proposal," you forfeit your exclusive sole ownership over that specific submission.
    • The Shared Public License: Submitted WT Proposals are permanently licensed to the Gliocas ecosystem under an irrevocable, public, royalty-free framework. This enables the community to transparently view, analyze, vote upon, and ultimately absorb your text into the final, consolidated group manuscript. If the community votes your text into the winning slot for that round, it becomes part of a collective book that may be publicly read or sold via the Gliocas Books Page (/books), and you waive any right to retroactively withdraw the text or claim individual author royalties unless an explicit, separate multi-author commercial distribution split is explicitly structured for that project seed.

    4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features: Token Metering and Core Rights

    4.1 Functional Operation

Gliocas leverages dynamic Large Language Models (LLMs) to power the Glio Assistant, text completion selectors, world-building generation, and Write-Together automated prompt systems. When you interact with an AI tool, fragments of your text and Codex entries are transmitted via secure APIs to our downstream processors (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google AI).

    4.2 The "No Training" Covenant

We legally mandate that none of your proprietary text inputs, generated narrative outputs, or Story Codex metadata can be consumed, scraped, or retained by third-party processors or by Gliocas to train public artificial intelligence models . Your text remains isolated from machine learning datasets.

4.3 Metering, Daily Credits, and Subscription Thresholds

    • The Baseline Model: To manage backend API infrastructure costs, AI feature consumption is tracked and metered based on language processing tokens. Free Tier accounts receive a structured allotment of monthly credits (e.g., "Glio Sparks"), which increment at a fixed time once per week. Unused monthly credits do not roll over, except in the case of Premium Tier subscribed users.
    • The Monthly Ceiling: Free accounts are subject to a hard monthly cumulative consumption ceiling. If your total volume of AI transactions exceeds this structural parameter, access to automated editing utilities will pause until the initialization of the next monthly cycle.
    • Premium Subscription Upgrades: You may choose to purchase a premium subscription tier. Subscriptions provide a massive monthly credit allocation, eliminate the monthly roll-over restriction, and transition your account to an unrestricted feature model with access to all tools and functionality in the system.

    5. Subscriptions, Spark Bundles, and Financial Terms

    5.1 Billing and Automatic Renewals

If you subscribe to a premium tier or buy separate credit top-up packages, you authorize our third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe) to charge the designated payment method. Subscription plans auto-renew at the end of each recurring billing interval (monthly or annually) at our standard pricing unless you formally terminate the cycle through your /account billing settings before the renewal date.

5.2 European Union / United Kingdom 14-Day Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer residing in the EU or the UK, you have a statutory right to cancel your premium subscription within fourteen (14) days of the initial purchase without providing justification.

    • Exception for Immediate Performance: By initiating premium AI features, executing complex vector searches, or exporting documents via professional formats (.epub, .docx) immediately upon upgrading, you explicitly request the immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that you lose your full statutory right of return once the digital services have been rendered. In such cases, if you exercise your withdrawal right, you will receive a pro-rata refund minus the exact financial value of the computational tokens consumed up to the moment of cancellation.

    5.3 Non-Refundability (General)

Outside of statutory regional consumer mandates, all subscription fees, computational credit purchases, and package top-ups are strictly non-refundable. If you cancel your subscription mid-cycle, you will retain access to your premium tier features until the current billing interval concludes.

    6. Acceptable Use and Platform Interdependence

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, and non-transferable license to access and use Gliocas strictly for creative drafting purposes. You agree not to engage in the following prohibited behaviors:

    • Illegal Content Generation: Do not use our editor or AI tools to draft, store, or distribute material that is legally fraudulent, defamatory, hateful, threatening, exploitative, or in violation of regional child protection statutes.
    • Infringement of Rights: Do not copy external books, proprietary text strings, or copyrighted screenplays into your manuscript or Codex to process them through the AI without valid ownership or legal rights.
    • Infrastructure Disruption: Do not attempt to bypass our computational token limits, script automated prompt loops, scrape user data, execute DDoS maneuvers, reverse-engineer our proprietary integration components, or interfere with database safety.
    • Write-Together System Abuse: Do not use multiple dummy accounts to systematically manipulate or rig public voting rounds, bypass the 30-second collaborative document editing locks, or coordinate spam text proposals designed to break down a public community book seed.

    7. Service Availability, Modifications, and Disclaimers

    7.1 "As-Is" Continuous Evolution Directive

Gliocas is an active, evolving software platform. The Service is provided on an "As-Is" and "As-Available" basis. You acknowledge that features may be altered, replaced, or sunsetted at any time without prior liability. We do not guarantee that specific computational capabilities, layout designs, or exact AI models will remain permanently active.

    7.2 Downtime and Maintenance

While we strive to maximize uptime, occasional server lag, API latency from downstream LLM vendors, deployment updates, or cloud maintenance windows will occur. Gliocas is not financially liable for any loss of access, transient data disruption, or text delivery delays caused by temporary platform downtime.

7.3 Data Protection and User Backups

Although our application features an automatic synchronization system that pushes changes to the cloud every 5 seconds or upon typing idle, you are ultimately responsible for executing regular, manual external backups of your creative work. You can export your book data at any time via the dashboard panel using standard Markdown format or our specialized project compression files (.gxb). Gliocas is not liable to you or any third party for the catastrophic loss, erasure, or corruption of manuscripts due to system incidents.

    8. Content Moderation, Reporting, and the Digital Services Act (DSA)

    8.1 Moderation Policy

Because users can publish manuscripts to the public Gliocas Books Catalog (/books) or submit visibility text blocks in Write-Together community rounds, we maintain content moderation parameters in strict alignment with Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act.

    8.2 Notice and Action Mechanisms

If you detect any material hosted on the Service that infringes your copyright, violates acceptable use rules, or constitutes illegal content under regional law, you may submit a formal complaint via Contact Support and Feedback . Your report must include: A clear description of the alleged violation, the exact page route URL (e.g., /write-together/:wtBookId), and your verification details.

8.3 System Penalties and Appeal Rights

If a user is found to be consistently uploading illegal content, distributing automated spam, or exploiting the community spaces, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate their account functionality. If we remove your public content or lock your profile under this section, we will issue a clear Statement of Reasons detailing our choice. You have a right to challenge our decision within six (6) months via our internal appeal review protocol or through independent out-of-court dispute bodies.

    9. Term and Termination

These Terms remain active until terminated by either you or Gliocas.

    • Your Right to Terminate: You may cancel your profile and terminate this contract at any time by accessing your account security settings and selecting "Delete Account." This action completely scrubs your active user variables and drops your private manuscript records from our live tables.
    • Our Right to Suspend or Terminate: We reserve the right to restrict your access, pause your computational API access paths, or delete your account credentials if you severely or repeatedly violate these Terms, cause demonstrable platform instability, or fail to resolve subscription balances.

    10. Limitation of Liability

    10.1 General Threshold (Global)

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable global law, Gliocas, its founders, employees, affiliates, and upstream infrastructure processors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages. This includes losses related to commercial profit shortfalls, missing creative manuscripts, reputational damage, software bugs, or the costs of sourcing alternative document drafting applications, even if we were explicitly warned about the risk of such damage.

    10.2 Liability Cap

Our cumulative, total contractual financial liability for any legal claim arising from your use of the Service is strictly capped at the greater of: (a) Fifty United States Dollars ($50.00 USD), or (b) the total financial amount you paid to Gliocas for your subscription or credit packages over the twelve (12) month period immediately preceding the date your legal claim arose.

10.3 Core Consumer Guarantees (EEA/UK Only)

If you reside in the EU or the UK, nothing in these Terms seeks to limit or disclaim our liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, death or personal physical injury resulting from our direct negligence, or your core statutory rights regarding defective digital goods under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or EU Consumer Protection Directives.

    11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Gliocas, its contractors, licensors, and employees from and against any third-party legal claims, financial obligations, damages, legal judgments, regulatory penalties, and court costs (including attorney fees) arising from:

    1. Your intentional misuse of the Service.
    2. Any user-generated content or manuscript you upload that infringes on a third party's patent, copyright, trademark, or privacy right.
    3. Your explicit violation of the Acceptable Use guidelines outlined in Section 6.

    12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    • If you reside in the European Union or the United Kingdom: These Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence. Any legal disputes or compliance challenges arising from this contract may be brought before the competent civil courts in your home capital or regional jurisdiction.
    • If you reside in the United States or any country outside the EEA/UK: These Terms are governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Subject to the binding arbitration rules in Section 14, any external judicial proceedings must be routed through the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware.

    13. Severability and Complete Agreement

If any specific section, paragraph, or clause of these Terms is declared unlawful, void, or contractually unenforceable by a regulatory body or competent court of law, that specific provision shall be severed from the contract. The remaining sections of these Terms will continue to operate with full, unaltered legal force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the absolute and complete agreement between you and Gliocas regarding your use of our creative platform.

    14. Dispute Resolution and Binding Arbitration (United States Users Only)

Please read this section carefully, as it impacts your legal capabilities, including your right to file a lawsuit in a court of law.

    14.1 Informal Resolution Buffer

Before initiating any formal legal claim or arbitration path, you and Gliocas agree to engage in an informal, good-faith negotiation for a period of at least thirty (30) days. To start this process, you must submit a clear, written "Dispute Notice" detailing the history of your claim and your requested resolution to Contact Support and Feedback .

    14.2 Binding Arbitration Framework

If our informal negotiations fail to produce a solution, any remaining dispute, claim, or structural challenge arising from these Terms or your profile access will be resolved exclusively through individual, binding arbitration conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration proceedings will be executed in English and may be handled virtually via digital video connection to accommodate geographical access.

14.3 Absolute Waiver of Class Actions

You and Gliocas agree that each party may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff, representative, or class member in any purported class action, collective lawsuit, or mass representative proceeding. The arbitrator cannot consolidate multiple user claims or oversee a structured representative action unless both parties formally provide written assent.

    15. Contact and Support Information

If you have questions regarding these platform guidelines, need clarity on subscription billing configurations, or require help navigating your Story Codex parameters, please contact our support desk: Contact Support and Feedback .
